Yesterday we went on our first snowshoeing trek of 2008 and the first hike with OUR new gear. There is a huge sale here at Sports Authority in the Winter called "Sniagrab" and we were able to get a great deal on snow shoes and poles. Now we can go as often as we like!!
Anyway, we went just outside of a small town called Nederland, to a trail up to the Lost Lake. On the way, you pass through an old mining town, called Hessie. The buildings are still standing but of course are no longer lived or worked in. It makes you wonder though what it would have been like a hundred years ago....
