It DOES exist

On Saturday, Phil, me, and our friends Nick and Heather headed out on a GORGEOUS (nearly 70 degree) Colorado day to go snow shoeing. I searched online and found a few places that I thought wouldn't be too far of a drive, yet would be great hikes. Much to our disappointment, we searched and searched and searched, and no snow was to be found. =(

So we explored the mountains, visited some pretty, yet in the middle of now-where model condos, and explored the mountains somemore. The trip wasn't quite for not, though, because we did find some great places for backpacking and camping this summer. And we had a great time hanging out with Nick and Heather.

Early afternoon we headed home, a bit disappointed - actually we were pretty bummed. As some of you know, this is not the first attempt at Phil and I trying to go snow shoeing, but finding no snow and finding disappointment instead. So we decided that we'd head out early the next morning and go up further into the mountains this time, and find snow. Well, its snowed about 3 inches last night before we headed up the mountain.

Sunday morning we headed out with our friends Rebecca and Tim - this time we weren't coming back until we found snow. It was a slow and long drive due to the 3 or so inches of snow on the ground and much more on its way, the lack of snow plows, and the many accidents that dotted the side of the road. But we finally found it...SNOW!!! And snow that we could snow shoe in (you've got to have a good 6+ inches of snow). So here's some pics from our adventure and if you click on the right "Colorado Harms Photos," you'll find some videos of the men "sliding" down the hill.
